Weingut Willi Schaefer a stunning collection in 2008. Learn more about one of its fresh and vibrant Mosel Kabinett!
Willi and Christoph Schaefer at the Weingut Willi Schaefer produced (yet again) a great collection in the Mosel Vintage 2008, with all its wines shining through aromatic freshness and precision as well as sharp but zesty acidity.
The Estate produced some textbook Kabinett in a style not seen here since 2002 and 1998. This is good news for all wine lovers who, like us, adore this style of wine. Our Mosel of the month for July is a great Kabinett from the 2008 vintage: fresh, vibrant and delicious! But also the two other Kabinett produced in 2008, the Graacher Himmelreich and the Wehlener Sonnenuhr, are superb.
This wine of the month was reviewed in Part I of our extensive 2008 Vintage Report which covers over 20 Estates, including Weingut Willi Schaefer. Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett

The overall sense of balance in this wine is similar to that of the two other Kabinett made in this vintage: the only difference is the aromatic profile, which is more driven by yellow fruit (peach but also mango) and is slightly more opulent on the palate. The balance is impeccable and the finish sappy and mouthwatering. 2013-2020
